We
use Active Learning to inject some fun into medical education
Remember
when you were a kid? What was better: being shown how a baseball
is hit...or grabbing a bat and taking a few whacks yourself? Reading
about animals...or getting up close and personal in a petting zoo?
Seeing a movie of a volcano erupting...or making your own miniature
Mount Vesuvius explode in a hail of vinegar and baking soda?
Of
course, the answers to all these questions are the ones that get
you involved in the action. Why? Because that's where the fun is;
where you're not a bored bystander. This idea of education through
participation is known as Active Learning, and it's what we're all
about at Insight Exchange.
We
think Benjamin Franklin best summed up our philosophy:
"Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I may remember.
Involve me and I will learn."
Insight
Exchange programs are designed to truly engage participants, engaging
them in "electronic conversations." Our programs are driven
by a proprietary software platform called DIAGRAM, which combines
dialogue, graphics and motion
to create a user-customized experience that is interesting, entertaining,
and enjoyable.
